The Lost Words - Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris

With The Lost Words now in the top ten books list, I think the 'spell book' has begun to weave its magic. Designed to re-engage nature words back into our language, the first exhibition of the original artwork opens this Saturday at The Compton Verney Gallery, Warwickshire.

The Storywalks involvement has been to take the words on a digital trail around the Compton Verney grounds and as part of this I created some posts for the grounds. Each depicts a lost word - Heron, Wren, Rook, Acorn and most surprisingly Conker. So it's only fitting that during Conker season the exhibition opens its doors and we'll see the spells in their natural form.

The exhibition is open until 17th December and there are school notes to aid the experience - plus the parallel exhibition is of Quentin Blake illustrations - what's not to love there.

More details here, which includes details about the Spell Walks http://www.comptonverney.org.uk/thing-to-do/lost-words/2017-10-21/

And if you find yourself on the way to Compton Verney and want to get your mobile device ready to spell the walks, then you can open the page in preparation.
